Nancy Lee Blankenship-Dehuarte, 68, a 30-year resident of Bowie, left us on September 2, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was the owner & operator of the Hair Chateau for over 25 years. She was a very creative lady whose handmade crafts have become cherished keepsakes to many. Having grown up on a farm Lanham, she found a special peace creating magnificent gardens. Her generosity, compassion, and counsel to those in need have benefited many. Early on, she was a courageous fighter for equal rights, protection, and pay for women. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband and best friend of 34 years, Joseph; her sons, Troy and Tracy; 4 grandchildren, Britny, Nicholas, Zachary, and Joshua; and a great-grand daughter, Nevaeh. She is also survived by a brother, Bill Hidey and his wife Renee, their son Bill and daughter Elise, and a niece Amanda Shriver. She is predeceased by her sister, Debra Edmonds and her niece, Heather. There will be a Memorial Gathering at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy.
