Richard John Weikart

Of Bowie, MD, died August 29, 2012 at Anne Arundel Medical Center following a stroke. Born August 2, 1943, he was raised in Greensberg, PA by parents D. Gilbert and Lena Jane Weikart. Dick was a proud graduate of Penn State and went on to earn his M.A. in English literature from Kent State University. He had a distinguished and varied career as a director of nonprofit organizations, as a trainer, writer and editor, and as a financial planner. He and his wife Natalie Wahlberg Weikart shared 47 wonderful years of marriage. He also leaves behind son David Wahlberg Weikart, daughter-in-law Tracy Rocca-Weikart and their two sons Gabriel and Benjamin, of Bowie; son John Reynolds Weikart and daughter-in-law Jennifer Hsing-Chung Chu, of Ivoryton, CT; brother David Richard Weikart and sister-in-law Jane Meinhardt Weikart of Auckland, NZ; and sister Valentina Weikart Grimme of Port Huron, MI. The family will receive friends at the family-owned Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy (Rt. 3 South), Bowie, MD 20715, on Saturday, September 1, 2012, from 3:00 to 4:00pm, where memorial services will be held following at 4:00pm
