Ronald Eugene Blomberg Architect, age 82 Ron Blomberg passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Roberta Anne and his son, Bruce Patrick of Bowie, MD; his daughter, Laura Anne and her husband, George Foussekis of Louisa, VA; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Comerford, Brenda Parrish, and Marcella Blomberg. He was predeceased by his brother, John R. Blomberg. Ron was born February 23, 1930 in Oak Park, IL, son of Eugene N. Blomberg and Gladys Sellinger Blomberg. He lived most of his early years in La Grange Park, IL, where he was a member of the Class of 1948 at Lyons Township High School. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in Architecture. At Kansas, he played on the Jayhawks football team as a Guard. After graduation, Ron received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. Ron was a registered architect for almost 50 years, working for several Washington area firms and had his own firm, REB Associates. He loved architecture and was especially attentive to detail. He was a long-time member of American Institute of Architects. He retired in 2003 from RMF in Baltimore. Ron was an avid golfer and was interested in American military history. He was a lifelong member of the Roman Catholic Church and a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Bowie, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Chapel, 16501 Annapolis Rd., Bowie, MD on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 10:30am. Burial will be on Friday at the family cemetery on his farm, Greenfield, in Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chapel Maintenance Fund at Sacred Heart Church, Bowie, MD or the charity of your choice.
