Waldo V. Fatula

Waldo Vladimir Fatula was born in Monaca, PA on Oct 8, 1913 to Juraj (George)Fatula and Marie (Sochor) Fatula. Graduated from Robert Morris Business School in Pittsburgh, PA. Served in the Army Air Corps in WWII for 4 1/2 years. Married Irene Lurvey Hews on Jan 5, 1946 in Boston, Massachusetts. Moved to Washington DC in 1946 and worked as an accountant for the Veteran's Administration for 35 years. Had 3 children, one daughter and two sons. Graduated from American University in Washingon, DC. Was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington, DC for over 50 years, serving in various capacities for the church. After retirement he volunteered his time preparing taxes for senior citizens. Waldo was a man of quiet strength, compassion and understanding. A loving husband, father and grandfather. He was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Irene, and by 2 brothers and one sister. He is survived by his children, Christine Jane Fatula Simmons (Wilbur), Robert Hews Fatula (Deborah) and Richard Paul Fatula( Kathleen), and by 4 grandsons, George, Evan, Scott and Ryan.
