John W. Russey, III

October 9, 1934 — June 16, 2012

John "Pop Pop" Russey suffered from cardiac arrest and passed away at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. He was a loving and devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather. John was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and graduated from Hickman High School in Columbia, Missouri. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Missouri and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After college, he served as Captain in the U.S. Army. He retired in 2005 from a career in Aerospace Engineering. His career allowed him to live around the world before settling down in Maryland where he retired. He loved spending time with his family, especially his young grandchildren. He and Masaye, his wife of nearly 50 years, were avid swing dancers who enjoyed frequent trips to New York City. John also collected antique clocks, many of which were purchased during his extensive travels abroad. He had also recently started collecting wine. John will be forever remembered for his loyalty, warm heart, infectious smile and wonderful sense of humor. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to American Heart Association in his honor. To make a donation please visit: http://honor.americanheart.org/goto/johnwrussey
