Alex Pawluk, 66, a resident of Bowie died on Friday, June 15, 2012 at Washington Hosptial Center in Takoma Park. Alex was born in Germany August 24, 1945 to Pauline and Gregory Pawluk who were Ukrainian Nationals. They came to the U.S in 1952 and resided in Lyndora Pennsylvania. They attended SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church Lyndora where he was an altar boy and joined UOL. He graduated from Butler High School Class of 1964 and became U.S. Citizen along with his parents 1964. He received a degree from Devry Technical Institute Chicago Illinois 1966 and later worked at Westinghouse in Baltimore for over 30 years, which later became Northrop Grumman, in the Aerospace Defense Divisions as Electronics Technician and retired in 2002. Alex was active in sports, enjoyed fishing, hunting, cars and motorcycles. He started a part time crab business and piloted his own boat on the Chesapeake Bay. He spent his retirement traveling on his Harley and visited most of the states. He attended Sturgis for many years and made numerous friends along the way. He sported his unique style growing his hair into a matted rat tail (he wore proudly), flashy printed pants and muscle shirts, and anything Harley. He loved baseball, football and especially The Pittsburgh Steelers (hometown favorite) and oldies music from the 50's and 60's. He will be sadly missed by three brothers and one sister. Victor and wife Yuliya of Butler PA, Alesia Amos and Dennis of Moneta, VA, Peter and wife SuYoung of Richmond, VA and George and wife Rose of Butler, PA. Numerous nieces and nephews. Jason in VA, Jeffrey in TX and Kimberly Amos in WA (Alesia). From Butler are Elaine, Gregory, Roselyn, Katherine , Georgia (George) and Pavlog Pawluk (Victor). Preceded in death by parents Gregory Pawluk March 3, 1984, and Pauline January 30, 1998. Uncle Alex Pawluk of Chicago, IL April 10, 1978. Other family and relatives both living and deceased are in Ukraine, birthplace of our parents.
