Born on January 29, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY, his grandparents brought Joseph and his two brothers from Brooklyn, NY to Powhatan, VA and raised the three boys until each one of the boys graduated from high school. We worked in the country helping our grandparents. But at the age of 14, Joseph moved with his Uncle and Aunt in Washington, DC. He attended parochial and high school for the next three years. And moved back to Powhatan where he finished high school. His 3 years at Archbishop Carroll high enabled him to be very advanced in his education and did not have to study extensively in his last year. Although Joseph did not attend college, he was determined to do all he could to excel in his future career. He served in the U.S. Navy from August 1957 and honorably discharge in July 1962. He attended the Radiomen School in Bainbridge, MD. He served on 2 Destroyer ships, one being the Samuel B. Roberts, and served as a Radiomen on both ships. His duties was to transmit and receive messages to and from other Naval Ships and Land facilities. He loved transmitting in morse code and excelled above others in use of the automatic speed key. He became so interested in electronic circuits that he studied extensively aboard ship and did not often participate in recreation activities. When he was discharged from the Navy, he pursued continued education in electronics and began his business in TV repair. He began to install advanced TV antenna systems that would pull in stations from both Baltimore and the DC areas. He also began a career in repairing and designing CT scans for hospitals. Joseph met the love of his life in 1967, Mary (Linda) Swann, and very soon was married on October 28, 1967, and became the father of one girl and two boys. He loved traveling and spending time with his family, whether it was in the cool waters of Maine eating those scrumptuous lobsters. Or he would travel in the mountains of Tennessee enjoying watching the wild animals and also fishing with the in-laws and not catching anything. He loved the outdoors tremendously. He always helped others who are in need. He loved working on cars and teaching others oil and certain repairs. And he was good in doing electrical wiring in a house. He was a great handy man, from working on plumbing and replacing water heaters and other items in his home. Joseph loved talking to others about his experiences in life. He had a way of telling you such interesting stories and facts that will cause you to say "how could that be?" Sadly, after 40 years of marriage, his wife passed away in 2007. Joseph suffered a bad accident that led to a stroke in 2006. Recently he was diagnosed with severe clogging of the arteries and anorism. Leading to major surgery in which he did not recover.
