Charles F. Coleman On Wednesday, January 11, 2012, Charles F. Coleman of Bowie, MD. went home to be with his Lord. He was born to Charlie Coleman and Bertha Burford-Coleman on October 2, 1922, in Virgina Beach, Virgina. Charles was the younger brother of Elizabeth and Vivan Coleman. Charles left school in the 10th grade to join the Army where he served his country during World War II stationed in France. He was a Bus Operator for the N.Y.C. Transit Authority for 23 years retired and went on to drive a school bus for Nassau County for another 16 years. As and active member of the Church of the Advent in Westbury, New York, he served as an Usher and helped run the annual Strawberry Fair. After retiring to Maryland he attended the Largo Community Church in Bowie Maryland. He was the beloved husband of Maria A. Coleman for 64 years. The loving father of William L.R. Johnson, Ronald Coleman, Charles Coleman, Michelle M. Richardson, Arlene Coleman, Michael R. Coleman Sr., Charlyn Motley, David G. Coleman Sr., Bryant A. Coleman and the late Chelita Coleman; dear grandfather of 21 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
