Joan S. Riegger

Joan S. Riegger passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the beloved wife of William J. Riegger, Sr.; loving mother of Erin and Liam Riegger; dear sister of Susie Kampans and her husband, Broni, and Jerome Sullivan and his wife, Linda; and the youngest daughter of the late Jerome and Elizabeth Sullivan. Joan is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Joan was born in Washington, DC. She graduated from Regina High School and received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland. Joan married Will in July of 1980, and they had their first child, Erin, in 1987. Their son, Liam, was born in 1989. Joan was also a devoted employee of the Internal Revenue Service for 32 years and retired earlier this year as the Branch Chief of the IMF. Joan's family will receive friends at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD, on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, from 6 to 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave., Millersville, MD, on Thursday, September 8, 2011, at 11am. The interment will be private.
