Jeffrey DeWitt "Jeff" Blauvelt, 47, of Dunkirk, MD, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Burnett-Calvert Hospice House. Born March 17, 1964 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Louise McAlister Blauvelt and Peter "Pete" DeWitt Blauvelt of Slanesville, W. Va. Survived by his wife of 25 years Kim Blauvelt. He worked in Sales and Marketing for FCE Benefit Administrators, Inc. Prior to that he worked at CBIZ, Inc. and The Grant-Nelson Group. He started his first business "Window Magic, Inc." in 1986. An avid golfer, he belonged to The Country Club at Woodmore and was a long-time member of the University of Maryland Golf Club, proud to be an original "Terd." He enjoyed golf, soccer, University of Maryland sports events, family and traveling. In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by son Zachary Blauvelt and daughter Caitlin Blauvelt, both of Dunkirk; brother Michael Field Blauvelt of Washington, D.C., sister and brother-in-law Rev. Dr. Laura Blauvelt Easto and husband David of Reisterstown; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Rusty and Vicky Shaffer and David and Susan Byorick, nieces and nephew Brooke Shaffer, Sarah Easto and Peter Easto. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Highway, Bowie, MD 20715. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the University United Methodist Church, 3621 Campus Dr., College Park, MD 20742 with his sister Rev. Dr. Laura B. Easto officiating. Private interment will be held at George Washington Cemetery.
