Ruth Madaffari, a long time resident of the Villages in Lady Lake, FL, passed away at the age of 89 on June 28, 2011 after a long illness. She was born July 19, 1921 in West Virginia. She lived for many years in Warren, Ohio, where she worked for the General Electric Corporation. She is survived by her daughter, Natalie McMurdy of Bowie, MD., three grandchildren, Pamela Beary and her husband, Shawn of New Windsor, MD, Patrick McMurdy and his wife, Deirdre of Severn, MD, and Jodi Nicolella of Washington, PA. In addition, she is survived by eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces and nephews who knew her as Aunt Tootie. Ms. Madaffari moved to the Villages in 1986 after retiring from General Electric. She was an avid golfer, loved to read, and was an expert in counted cross stitch and crochet. She volunteered as a clown, known as Sweetootie, and visited nursing homes (where she entertained residents) and schools (where she read to children). A family memorial will be held during the Wells' Family Reunion on July 16, 2011, in Richeyville, PA.
