Linda Gail Gamble, 65, of Severn died on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was predeceased by her father, James Thomas and her brother, Roger Thomas. Survivors include her husband, Paul; 3 children, Cindy Tutwiler and her husband, Tim, of Crofton, Becky Anderson and her husband, Rob, of Severna Park and Amy Messina and her husband, George, of West River; her mother, Rebecca Thomas; a sister, Brenda Gawthrop; and 6 grandchildren, Haley, Lexie, Kara, Maddie, Jake and Jackson. Family will receive friends at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 7 to 9pm, where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 10am. Interment, Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville. Linda was born in Accoville, West Virginia to James Arnold and Rebecca Thomas and spent her childhood years in Davin, West Virginia. She had an older brother, Roger and a younger sister, Brenda. She graduated from Man High School in 1963 where she was a cheerleader and a majorette. Shortly after graduating, she married her high school sweetheart, Paul Gamble, and moved to Washington, DC. Linda worked for the federal government for a few years and had her first child, Cindy, in 1965. Linda and Paul had two other daughters, Becky in 1970 and Amy in 1973. The family moved to Bowie, Maryland where Linda was active in local schools, her children's sports, and the community. One of Linda's hobbies was bowling. She and Paul joined several bowling leagues in Crofton, Maryland where she and Paul met many lifelong friends. Linda and her team traveled across the country to play in national and regional tournaments. Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994 and bravely endured months of chemotherapy treatment. She successfuly battled the disease and reached the cancer free milesone in 1999. Family was most important to Linda and the sunshine in her life was undoubtedly her grandchildren. Linda's extended family include four nephews (Keven Thomas, Michael Thomas, Mitchell Gawthrop, Andrew Gawthrop(deceased)) two great nephews (Dylan Thomas, Trevor Thomas) and a great niece (Bridget Thomas). On June 10th, Linda succumbed following an extended illness related to lung and heart disease.
