Albert Duane Denton was born Saturday, August 19, 1972 in Boston, MA and was the son of A.D. Denton and Sarah Bowling Denton. He attended Friendship Apostolic Church in Dorchester MA. Al graduated from Boston Latin High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Hampton University, Hampton VA in August 1994 where he developed skills in computer science. Most recently, he was employed as a .Net Developer at Buchanan and Edwards, an Information Technology and Professional Services Company in Arlington VA. He was a Microsoft and Oracle Certified Professional. Al married Michelle Elizabeth Davis on Saturday, July 14, 2007 in Salem Baptist Church in Jenkintown PA. To this union, two sons were born, Miles Aaron Denton on September 1, 2008 and Jason Allen Denton on March 3, 2010, both in Alexandria, VA. Most importantly, Al loved his wife and his two sons. Al enjoyed traveling with Michelle to the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Hawaii, California, Florida, and the Outer Banks as well enjoyed family vacations with his family and friends. Al also had a great love for landscaping at home and took it to heart, truly an avid gardener. He was the President of the Wood Pointe Homeowners Association. He also loved computers and their applications. For recreation, in addition to gardening, he enjoyed playing pool and had a love for playing basketball, watching sports and rooting for the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and the New England Patriots, all winners of championships. Al enjoyed music, particularly R & B, gospel, hip-hop, jazz and neo-soul. He had many friends including classmates from Hampton University who enjoyed spending time with "Smoke" as he was called. He was committed to friendships, some of which he had formed in elementary school. He was truly a peaceful man, a great husband and wonderful dad who loved his children and the Lord. Al went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 7, 2011. In addition to Michelle, his loving wife of three years, Albert is survived by his sons Miles and Jason; his mother and father, Sarah and A. D. Denton; mother-in-law Mary Esther Davis, and father-in-law, Timothy Davis, Jr. He also leaves behind three sisters, Ann Denton, Cherisse Denton, Michelle Sullivan and a brother Thomas Wooten. Also, he will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
