Dr. Pat Esborg passed away peacefully in her home in Bowie, MD, surrounded by her family on January 25th, 2011, from lung cancer. Born October 19, 1938 in Santa Monica, CA, to the late Robert and Betty Keith, Pat is survived by Svend, loving husband of 49 years, and her beloved children, Julia (Richard Snow) of VA, Kara Esborg of CA, and Erik (Rebecca Tucker) of CO, and dear grandchildren, Daniel and Clara Snow of VA, and Anneka Esborg of CO. Pat leaves behind many cherished relatives, friends, and colleagues worldwide. Pat's fulfilling nursing career spanned 25 years during which time she worked in hospitals in CA, AK, Belgium, and MD. Pat went on to earn a Master's Degree in Psychiatric Nursing in 1984, and in 1991, a PhD. in Sociology, both from Univ. of MD. In 1985 she embarked on a new career and enjoyed a thriving private practice as a psychotherapist and an organizational consultant until her diagnosis only four months ago. Pat was a true people's person and touched many lives. She lived every moment to the fullest and loved music, books, art, travel and nature. A celebration of Pat's life will be held at Quiet Waters in Annapolis on March 12th. We smile as we hear Pat saying: "Always leave them laughing." If you are considering making a contribution in Pat's memory, Svend would like to suggest that, instead of flowers, a donation be made to your charity of choice, or to one of Pat's favorite charities: S.O.M.E. (So Others Might Eat, a soup kitchen in Washington D.C.), Save the Children, or one particularly dear to Pat's heart, Second Grace, which benefits the people of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. (Make checks payable to Second Grace Foundation. Mailing address is c/o Diane Eccles 7654 South., 1000 E. Midvale, UT 84047.). Thank you for your loving gesture.
