Willie Jackson Billingslea affectionately known as "Jack" to family and friends was called home on January 5, 2011 at 11:30 p.m. at Laure Regional Hospital. He was born on September 24, 1922, in Jones County, Georgia. He was the middle son of Emery Billingslea and Osie Billingslea. Jack graduated from Grey High School located in Grey, Georgia. By trade Jack was a certified mason who mastered the art of building. To his credit his seal has been placed on many historic sites located in the Washington Metropolitan area. Jack served in the United States Army from 1942 - 1945 during World War II. After completing his tour of duty, he returned to the United States and marred Laura Lunsford. There were two children Michael and Beverly born of this union. Following this marriage he would later meet his second wife Jean Y. Lloyd and would have three children: Johanna, Darlene and Emery. Jack's character was self-defining. He was a man who took his responsibilities in life serious. His life served as an example to his children and grandchildren giving them a realistic foundation in life. He was an exemplary father and grandfather. His life lessons were shared with grandchildren most often in private conversations. He was a man of knowledge and wisdom. Jack our father, brother, friend, uncle and grandfather, a man of quality, one that will never be replaced or replicated. Jack leaves to cherish his memory, two sons Emery Billingslea (Rhonda) and Angelo Lloyd, three daughters Beverly (Mark) Payne, Gabriel Lloyd-Parrin (Leonard) and Yvonne Lezama, seven grandsons, Abduah Billingslea, Jamoci Billingslea, Vander Billingslea, Angelo Lloyd, Jr., Michael and Jarada Kelliebrew and Khalyl Scrivner, granddaughters, Delores Lloyd, and Shawanna, Lloyd-Goodman (Leonard), three sisters Jimmy Mabry (Dock), Evelyn Davis (Ed) and Osie Owens (Pete), Seven nieces, Frankie, Patricia, Carla Billingslea, Cheryl Blake (Mike), Rasheda Bell (Ray), four nephews, Ed Davis (Lynn), Kenny, Ricky, Anthony, Emery Billingslea and Erik Owens, lifelong friends Richard Gilmore and Cleveland White and a host of other relatives and friends.
