He grew up in the states of Colorado and Texas and entered the U. S. Army in 1957. Twenty years later and several tours in Vietnam as well as in Europe and throughout the world, he was honorably discharged having received the Bronze Star. While in the U. S. In his retirement years, he spent much time working in his garden and participating in the games of Racket Ball and Tennis. One of his greatest joys was in writing poetry. The following poem was published in The National Library Of Poetry and leaves a fine impression of his life. Time In Time Who can tell when time began, or its destiny to end; It's said there's a power that knows, and he's our greatest Friend. Like the ocean wave that begins its flow: Who knows where it began, and what end it will go. To measure time great men have tried, their efforts were in Vain: For he who captures time in time, is certain for great fame. Our time is measured in segments of life, where humans come And go, The time of birth to death, is a measure that we know. Time is not certain for us all, for some comes an early fall: For others the seasons may extend, but eventually their time Will Also end. Whichever way we use our time, by the second, hour, day or Year, Use it carefully, spread it well, and leave a legacy fine and Clear. Benjamin Franklin Paiz
