David Bruce Owens

David Bruce Owens was born on May 15,1958 at Ernest Harmon AFB, New Foundland, Canada, to the late Katherine C.Owens and Sgt. Nathan B. Owens Jr. The family traveled to Nebraska, Japan and Idaho. They moved to the Washington,DC area in 1970. David attended High Point High School in Beltsville, Maryland and graduated in 1976. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1982. In 1988, he met and married Carmen Mason. Their union produced two children. Samantha was born in 1989 and Lex was born in 1994. David and Carmen divorced in 2002. David worked at various jobs until accepting employment at Owens & Minor in the warehouse receiving department in July 1995. He worked his way up to inventory control key member in July 1998. David enjoyed fishing, cooking and working on and detailing cars. He loved Football, his favorites teams were the Redskins and the Maryland Terps. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Katherine C. Owens. He is survived by his father Nathan B. Owens Jr; daughter Samantha Owens; son Lex Owens; sisters Adrianne Beverly and Danice Brooks; Brother-in-laws Joel Beverly Sr and Charles Brooks; nieces Angela Hill and Jennifer Darrington; nephew Joel Beverly Jr; great-nieces Mia Thomas, Jada Darrington and Amaya Hill; great nephews Jalend Hill, Jason Hill,Jamal Hill, Eric Darrington, Jevonne Beverly and Charles Beverly and a host of other relatives and friends.
