James William Moore, Jr.

September 8, 1938 — October 28, 2010

On Thursday, October 28, 2010, James W. Moore(Jim) of Lanham, MD passed away. He was the beloved husband of Helen L Moore and loving father to Lisa Duke, James J. Moore and Rebecca Moore. He was also the loving step-father of JoAnne Kagle, James Clearwater and Carol Smiroldo. The second child in a series of 7, Jim was the first son of James William Moore, Sr. Jim was close to his siblings; Denise Spiegel, Van Christ, Tom, Paul, Charlie and John Moore. Jim has 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all whom he was very proad of. Family will receive friends at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 11:00am until service time, 12:00pm. Interment, Maryland Veterans Cemetery-Crownsville. Mourners are invited to attend a reception following the Interment. The reception will be held at The American Legion, 1905 Crownsville Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 Jim spent the majority of his adult life spreading the joy of music to children through his work as an elementary school music teacher in PG county schools. He also played in multiple bands over his life time, always dedicating himself to his craft. Although his primary instruments were Trombone and Guitar he could make great music with any instrument including his voice. Anyone who heard him play and sing John Denver songs will remember his great singing voice. Jim also had a great love of literature. He volunteered his time at New Carrolton library because of his love for books and his desire to help others. Jim was a generous man who always tried to help others where he could.
