George J. Carrette

George J. Carrette (78) 04-02-1931 to 03-30-2010 On Tuesday, March 30, 2010, the beloved husband of the late Mary Margaret Carrette, passed away in his home in Bowie in the presence of his family. George was born in Salem, Massachusetts, attended Lynn English HS and was a graduate of American University. Mr. Carrette served as Captain of the US Secret Service Uniformed Division. He was also a Navy Veteran during the Korean Conflict and a police officer with the Metropolitan Police District of Columbia. After retiring from the Secret Service, he worked as an Inspector for the city of Bowie. He was a devoted and loving father of George Carrette and his wife Dawna, Patrick Carrette, Therese Minogue and her husband Frank, Cathy Woods and her husband Dave, and John Carrette and his wife, Lisa. Also, survived by nine grandchildren, Madeleine, Charlie, Vivienne, Sean, Rachel, George Patrick, Shannon, Michael, and Mary Beth. Also, survived by his brother, Patrick and his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Chapel, 16501 Annapolis, Rd, Bowie, on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11am.
