John Martin Hagan, 70, a 15 year resident of Lusby, Md and formerly of Bowie, MD, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2010 in Washington, D.C. after a 5 year illness. He was born June 21, 1939 in Cambridge, MA to the late Charles G. Hagan and Beatrice Welch Hagan. He graduated from Providence College in 1961 with a BA degree and from Catholic University with a Masters Degree in History. He worked as a Teacher at Palotti High School from 1963-1966 and then at Bowie High School from 1966-1971. He was Vice Principal at Frederick High School from1971-1974 and then at Thomas Johnson High School from1974-1975. He was Principal at Kent Junior High from 1975-1976 and at Bowie High School from1976-1995. He was predeceased by his brother, Mark Hagan. Survivors include two former wives, Eleanor Niles Hagan and Joan Wallace Hagan; Sister and Brother-in law, Mary & Tom Couming of Kennebunk, Maine; Nieces, Suzanne Couming Caldwell of Alexandria, VA and Paula Couming Reetz of Kennebunk, Maine. A Memorial Gathering will be held at BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 1:00-3:00PM.
