James Kendall Magrum of Crofton, MD died on February 22, 2010. James is survived by his beloved son Bryan A. Magrum and daughter-in-law Sophia C. Magrum, grandson Joseph K. Magrum, granddaughter Alexandra E. Magrum, sister Janet Haun, brother Michael Magrum, and nieces and nephews. Born on January 31,1940 in Washington, D.C. his family moved to Greenbelt, MD in 1953 where he lived until 1969. During his teenager years, Jim got the nick-name "Shorty" and many only knew him by that name. He married in 1969, had one son in 1977, and was later divorced. Many of those years he lived in Bowie before moving to Crofton and during that time he often coached little league baseball, football and worked with the Boy Scouts. First a meat cutter by trade until 1972, Jim later became an electrician. He worked 13 years through Union Local 26 I.B.E.W than another 20 years for the U.S. Navy Department of Public Works. While working for the Navy, he received eighteen outstanding performance awards. He retired in December, 2004. Since retirement, Jim spent some his time hunting, as he had done for years, as well as fishing. He will be missed by all his family and friends...
