Mary Scott Brown

Reflections of Her Life Mrs. Mary Scott Brown, daughter of the late Schofield and Marion Scott was born March 11, 1938 in Springfield, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, February 20, 2010 after a long illness. As Mary grew up in life, she joined the Frost Branch Baptist Church, Blackville, SC where all her family attended. When she moved from the Aiken, SC area to Maryland, Mary kept in touch with God through the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Lanham, MD. Mary was a graduate of Kelly Edwards High School in Williston, SC and obtained her degree in Accounting from Augusta Technical College, Augusta GA. Mary also attended school in Springfield MA. April 1956, Mary was married to Mr. Ephron "Bub" Brown (deceased 2007). This union was blessed with two (2) children. Mary worked in the hospital industry for over 25 years retiring as a Financial Counselor at Doctors Community Hospital, Lanham MD where she met many wonderful people that loved her and Ephron both. To know her was to love her. The memory of her being kind, pleasant and good natured with high morals and family values will linger long in the hearts and minds of those that knew her. Survivors include: One (1) Son: Edison (Tisha) Brown, Fayetteville, NC; One (1) Daughter, Benise (Mike) Jones of Bowie, MD; A dear and special niece, Virginia (Carl) Justice, (3) Sister-in-Laws, Lucile Smith of Bladensburg MD, Catherine (Robert) Chislom of Aiken S.C., and Christie Taylor of Hempstead, NY, (1) Brother-in-Law Robert Quatterbaum of Springfield S.C., (5) close cousins, Oliver (Pat) Wannamaker, Clinton, MD., Albert Scott Jr., Columbus, OH., Robert Howard, Columbus OH., Emma "Doll" Glenn, WA., Nancy Smalls, Washington, DC, (7) Grandchildren, (1) Great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
