Dorothy A. Smith

Dorothy Ann Smith passed away in the early morning of February 16th, 2010. Dorothy was a devoted wife for 59 years to her beloved husband Charles Smith. She was the daughter of Joe and Anna Goodman and she had 3 brothers, Joe, William "Buddy", and Tom. Buddy is still with us but the rest of her family has passed on. Dorothy was the mother to 5 children, Charlie Jr, Tom, Anne Marie, Marianne and Joe. Anne Marie died at birth and we are happy to know that Dorothy has been reunited with her in heaven. Dorothy also leaves a son in law, Pietro and daughter in laws, Kristin and Cheryl. Dorothy is survived by her 5 beautiful grandchildren who she adored. Skye, Alexa, Aidan, Keira and Sophia gave her so many wonderful memories and she relished in their mischief. "Dolly" was an incredible wife, mother and grandmother who always made everyone she met feel like family. She truly loved being a homemaker and had a great interest in gardening and loved to cook. She took the term "nothing like mom's cooking" to a new level. She was a very deeply religous woman who was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Bowie for more than 40 years. She instilled those morals and beliefs in all her children and her spirit lives on in her family and the people who knew her. She will be sorely missed but we know she is happy and reunited with God and her family and friends in heaven. If we ever need anything it is nice to know she will be looking after and praying for all of us. Mom, we love and miss you and we thank God for every day we got to spend with you.
