Mollie Norwood

January 31, 1916 — February 15, 2010

Mollie Norwood passed away February 15, 2010 at the young age of 94. She is mother to Agnes Cheri, Joan Bristow and the late Albert Norwood. In addition, she had 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, sisters, daughter-in-law and many friends. She lived a good life. Mollie was born in Annapolis, MD in 1916 and has resided in Maryland most her life. She met Horace Norwood at an early age and married. They were married until 1976 when the Lord called him home. She moved in with her daughter Agnes where she lived when the Lord called her home. For many years it was Mollie, Agnes and her late son-in-law Sam. The three of them were very active going to Bingo several times a week and playing cards. They even took a trip or two out to California where they got into the Price Is Right TV show that they watched every day without fail. Too bad they did not make it on stage, I am sure they would have won the games. For all of those that knew Mollie you know how much she liked her daily shot of whiskey (she was not giving that up because that is what kept her going) and her beer. About 2 years ago the doctor told her that her cholesterol was high and wanted her to stop drinking. She was very sad but then decided at 92 she should be able to drink what she wanted so she did. So she cut back on 1/2 can of beer instead of a whole can. She gave up smoking years ago, however she refused to give up everything she loved. She was a strong woman. Even as late as the night before her passing, she was talking about going to Bingo on Tuesday February 16th and Charlestown casino next month. She was very excited about getting free slot money. Mollie was a good person who was the center of our family. While she will be greatly missed we find comfort in knowing that she lived at home with little health issues and enjoyed doing all the things she had for so many years. Her passing was very peaceful as she sat in her favorite chair, closed her eyes, and covered with her favorite blanket. So for Mollie our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend we wish her to rest in peace and know that she was loved on this earth. We will not say goodbye as we will see her again when it is our time to go to heaven and be with the Lord.
