Stephen E. McLain

October 13, 1951 — February 6, 2010

HELLO EVERYONE I AM STEPHEN EDWARD McLAIN I was born on 13 October 1951, in Washington, DC. My father's name was Redus McLain and my mother was Mildred Gilbert McLain. I had five brothers Redus Jr., Robert (Bobby) Richard, John, and James. I grow up in Lanham Maryland and lived there until 1983 when I moved to Bowie, MD. I married Delores (Dee) Marie McLain on May 25, 1985, we never had children together, but Dee had a son (Pete) and a daughter (Robin) who lived with us and I became a step-father to both of her children. I have a daughter Angela Marie McLain who lives in Rockville. I also had two grand-daughters, Jessica Marie Cook and Crystal Irene Cook, one great grand-daughter Lisa Rose Benites and a very close friend Jose' Benites and many nieces and nephews. To those that did know me you all knew that I loved race cars, model cars and anything to do with cars. I also loved my little dogs Nickie-B, Brandi and Benji they meant everything to me. I loved all of God's little creatures and I would feed the birds, chipmunks, squirrels and would sit by the patio door watching them. By trade I was a Sheet Metal Mechanic, but my favorite hobbies were working on cars, restoring old cars, planting flowers, growing tomatoes, boating, car shows and just putting little things together. I enjoyed reading the comics in the Washington Post and I could not go one day without reading my comics. I enjoyed diet Pepsi, pizza, pork roll, steaks, Dee's homemade meatballs and subs. Both Christmas and Thanksgiving were my favorite holidays because of the great apple and pumpkin pies Dee use to make for me. Outside of Maryland, I traveled to Hawaii, California, Florida, Maine, New York, Tennessee, Virginia, Delaware, Canada, Aruba, St. Croix, Barbados, and St. Thomas. I enjoyed being with people especially my best friend Tony Hayes who I have known since 1969. I worked with Tony many years and enjoyed going to all the car shows with him and my brother Junior. We all had many great laughs together and shared a lot of wonderful times together. To those of you who are reading this, please keep me in your prayers and have good thoughts about me. Enjoy a ice cold diet Pepsi and sugar cookies and think of me. I'll be seeing you again in heaven.
