Eugene Henninger of Bowie, Md., passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2010 after a 7 year struggle with a blood disorder. Mr. Henninger was a World War II Veteran assigned to Headquarters Battery, 23d Group, of General Patton's Third Army. He participated in the Normandy campaign and campaigns in the Rhineland and Central Europe. He also participated in the liberation of the Dachau Concentration Camp and was decorated for his service in battle. Eugene Henninger is the father of Doris Torosian, also of Bowie, and has three grandchildren, Michael Torosian, Barbara Vermette and Karen Shouse. He was blessed with ten great grandchildren, Paul, Samantha, Nicole, Chelsea, Kelly, Alyssa, Cathy, Megan, Mary Kate and Tabetha. His wife, Mary Henninger passed away in 2008. Mr. Henninger was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Bowie, Md. Burial was at Resurrection Cemetery.
