Eugene S. Capps

CAPPS Eugene S. Capps Army LTC (Ret.) Of Bowie, MD, died peacefully at home on Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the age of 73. Gene had fought a lengthy, courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born in North Carolina and graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. Gene had a career as an Army pilot that lasted for 32 years. After retiring from the military he worked for Amalex and Falcon Engineering. Gene was a devoted church member and friend. He was an avid dog lover, racquetball player and email buddy. Gene is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jewel and their three children Robin, Alan and Mark, their spouses, seven grandchildren and one brother, John. Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 20, at 10 am at First Baptist Church of Crofton, 1690 Crofton Pkwy., Crofton, MD until the time of service at 11 am. A graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 3:00pm. Please arrive at the Administration Building at 2:30pm..
