Rocco J. Demilio

Rocco Demilio passed away June 17, 2009 at his home in Crofton, MD after a long battle with Parkinsons disease.He was born January 23, 1928 to Italian immigrant parents Rocco DeMilio and Virginia Zarillo in White Plains New York. Rocco moved to the Washington D.C area in 1950 and married his high school sweetheart Josephine A. Calvano in 1951. Mr. Demilio was widowed in 1980 and re-married Jacqueline Manual in 1992. Rocco was one of the original employees of Lenz Supply when it started in 1953 which is now known throughout the nation as Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. Described by his colleagues as a dreamer?, and a man of the world?, he rose through the ranks from the warehouse all the way to being elected president of the Washington branch of Lenz Plumbing supply in April of 1979; where he remained president until his retirement in 1988. Throughout his life he had an affinity for race horses which culminated in his eventual ownership and great success, including one stretch in November of 1990 where he won ten consecutive races at Laurel Racetrack, which stands as a track record.Mr. Demilio is survived by his wife Jackie, daughter Donna Saia and her husband Wayne, sons Stephen and his wife Sandra and Christopher Demilio, step-sons Michael and Phillip Manual and his wife Tracy, six grand-children, three step-grand-children and one great-grand child.Family will receive friends at the family owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Monday, June 22, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1800 Seton Dr., Crofton on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 10:00am.
