Myrtle Jean Porter, 86, of Delray Beach, FL joined her husband Richard in life eternal on June 24, 2009. She passed with her son Richard Jr., wife Valette (Boca Raton, FL) and son Gene, wife Carol (Manchester, NH) close at hand. Myrtle was born December 31, 1922 in Kingston, NY. And is survived by her brother Doris Dabney (Kingston, NY) and sister Betty Williams (Kingston, NY) and 2 grandchildren. She graduated from State University of New York at New Paltz (1945) and received her masters degree from Bowie State College, Bowie, MD (1985). St. was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Bowie, MD, the Maryland Opera Society, the Bowie/Crofton BPW and Soroptimist International. Myrtle was an educator who taught 30 years in the Department of Defense School system in Europe. She enjoyed cooking, travel, volunteering and her grandchildren Kathleen and Kevin.
