Ralph W. Fawcett

On Friday, July 3, 2009, Ralph Willard Fawcett, M.D., Ph.D., 66, died unexpectedly from a heart attack.. He was born March 30, 1943 in Illinois to the late Howard and Ruth Fawcett. Ralph graduated from Burnt Hill-Ballston Lake High School, Burnt Hills, NY in 1961 and from Princeton University with a B.S.E. and Honors in Electrical Engineering in 1965. He went on to earn his Ph. D. in Engineering and Applied Science from Yale University in1971 and his Medical Degree from the National University of Ireland at Galway in 1981. Dr. Fawcett, a Psychiatrist, had a private practice in Bowie, MD. He is survived by his wife, Kari Holm Fawcett of Bowie, MD; 2 children, Kirstin Beatrice Fawcett of Bowie, MD and Erik Howard Fawcett of Washington, D.C.; and a brother, Harry Allen Fawcett of Las Vegas, NV. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 14900 Annapolis Rd., Bowie, MD 20715 on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 2:00pm. Interment private.
