Mary Susan Bennett Cobb

On Saturday, July 11, 2009, Sue B. Cobb, 61, a 10 year resident of Holland Point, MD and previously of Bowie, MD passed away at Walter Reed Army Medical Center after a 7 year battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was born on July 17, 1947 in Asheville, NC and went on to receive her BS in Physical Therapy from UNC Chapel Hill in 1969. For 25 years, she worked for the Prince Georges County Public Schools and retired in 2007 as the Physical Therapy Instructional Specialist. She also served on the Maryland State Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy State Steering Committee. Sue has touched so many lives with her unimaginable strength and determination to live her life to the fullest while fighting her cancer. Her memberships included Christian Community Presbyterian Church, Beta Sigma Phi Service Sorority, American Physical Therapy Association, County Special Olympics and Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. Survivors include her husband, William TC? Cobb of Holland Point, MD, who she married on June 8, 1968; Sons Relmond B. Cobb of Riva, MD, Thurston B. Cobb of Annapolis, MD and Harbert C. Cobb of Chicago, ILL; a brother, Taylor Bennett of Chicago, ILL; sisters Karen Carson of Port Saint Lucie, FL and Anne Bennett of Boonville, CA; and grandchildren Bennett R. Cobb and Savannah M. Cobb of Riva, MD.Family will receive friends at the family owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte 3. South), Bowie, MD on Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 6:00-8:00pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Christian Community Presbyterian Church, 3120 Belair Dr., Bowie, MD 20715 on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 12:00 noon. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church. Friends interested in honoring Sues memory might also consider running or walking in the Gynecological Cancer Foundations Race to End Womens Cancer and/or making a donation toward Ovarian Cancer Research, in her name.
