Evelyn June Poole

Evelyn June Poole, 86, of Bowie, and formerly of Northfork, West Virginia, died July 16, 2009 at Crofton Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on May 16, 1923 in Dott, West Virginia to the late Orbie Virgil Moye and Mamie Ruth Surface. June served for over 20 years as a missionary in the Washington D.C. Temple and was a member of the Bowie Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Prior to coming to the Washington area, she worked for many years at Welch Emergency Hospital in Welch, West Virginia. June was preceded in death my her husband, Howard R. Poole, whom she married in 1941; one daughter, Beverly Fackrell; one sister, Francis Effler; and one grandson, Keith Byrd. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Byrd of Bluewell, WV and Pamela Chacon of Bowie, MD; one son, Randall Poole of Bowie, MD; two sisters, Ella Mae Staph of Richmond, VA and Anna Lee Bowman of Sandlick, WV; and 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on July 18 at the Bennett-Widner Funeral Home in Northfork, WV.
