Elvera M. Golato 'Vera'

On Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD; a resident of Bowie, MD since 1962 and previously of Philadelphia, PA. She was a homemaker and an active golfer, with two holes-in-one to her credit. She suffered from COPD and was on oxygen for 24 hours a day for years. Beloved wife for 64 years of Al James Golato, former Bowie City Councilman and Prince Georges County School Board member; loving mother of Donna Sondberg and her husband John of Crofton, MD, Denise Moroney and her husband Ed of Calvert County, MD and James Golato of Bowie, MD; dear grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; also survived by a host of loving relatives and friends, many of them from the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey areas. Family will receive friends at the family owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 14721 Annapolis Rd., Bowie, MD on September 23, 2009 at 10:00am. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
