Alfred Campbell Dorantez Brash, 98, was called home by angels and shown the way by his loving wife Gloria Lee Brash who went home before him on March 7, 1976.
Alfred was born in Corozal, Belize to his parents Abraham and Estela Brash. As a young man, he set off to explore the world and found himself in Jamaica. It was there that he was captivated by a beautiful young woman, Gloria Mae Lee, who would steal his heart. The two of them would go on to own several businesses and celebrate their love. Nine children were born: Yvonne, Cecille, Blossom, Carol, Marcia, Bradford, Sharon, Andrea, and Gail.
After their children grew up, they continued traveling through the different islands and eventually made their way to the United States. In 1976, Gloria laid her head to rest there. Alfred would continue their plans of seeing the world and made several stops along the way, including Maryland. Here, he worked for Passport BMW as a Concierge Valet Technician for several years making lasting friendships along the way. He eventually made his way to Texas where he resided until the Lord called him home.
Fear not and please don’t shed a tear because he was not alone; for his beloved Gloria had been patiently watching and waiting to show him the way home.
Left to cherish his memory are his brothers Godfrey and Henry, his sister Marie, his children Yvonne, Cecille, Blossom, Carol, Marcia, Bradford, Sharon, Andrea, and Gail, 25 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandkids.
Don’t grieve for me, for I am free. I’m following paths God made for me.
I took his hand, I heard him call, then turned, and bid farewell to all.
I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to sing, to play, tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found my peace at close of play and if my parting left a void, then fill it with the remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened… deep with sorrow, I wish you sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don’t lengthen now with grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me. God wants me now, He set me free.
