Andrew Papaminas passed away on December 17, 2021 in Towson Maryland. Andrew was born in Wierton, West Virginia on September 9, 1925 to Anastasios & Eugenia Papaminas. He and his family moved to Baltimore in 1937 and established a food market business. Ge graduated from the Baltimore Polytechnic School where he went on to teach physics & coach football. He attended Johns Hopkins University, transferred to Tulhane, and then graduated University of Virginia, where he played football. He enlisted in the service & served in the Navy during WWII. After serving his country he helped run the family business Athens Meat Co. In 1963 he went to Rhodes, Greece and married Sunday, and had three children. Andrew would later work for the Maryland Environmental Service where he retired. He was a founding member of the AHEPA Lord Baltimore Chapter and active member of the Masons. Andrew is survived by his wife Sunday, three children Anastasias (Georgia), Parris (Jennifer), and Stavros Papaminas. He is also survived by four grandchildren, one sister Patricia Liacopulos, and many nieces & nephews. He will be fondly remembered for his love of family, funny wit, love of history, and Greek history.
