Angela Anne Byer

Angela Anne Byer was born on July 20, 1950 in Saint Anns, Trinidad & Tobago to Charles Byer and Dorothy Joseph.  She left this earth to be with the Lord on February 26, 2022. 

Angela has 6 siblings, Ronald Byer, Dianna Byer, Brenda Pearson, Rosalind McFarland, and twin sisters Maureen Byer and Doreen Clarke.  She was recently preceded in death by her cousin, AnnMarie Walkins, who she was very close to and treated as a sister. 

She is survived by 7 grandchildren, Camryn Higgins, Amari Byer, Aaliyah Byer, Chayce Higgins, Calise Higgins, Patrick Byer Jr., and Lillianne Byer. 

Angela spent her early years in Trinidad however she emigrated to the United States in 1968 where she raised her children Patrick Byer, Patrice Foy, and Calvin Byer in Brooklyn, NY.   Her joys included raising her children as well as cooking, baking, dancing, and traveling.  She also enjoyed extending her love by helping others in need.  Her natural ability to show love and compassion fueled her career choice in becoming a Registered Nurse.  This was one of her greatest achievements as well as one the happiest days of her life.  Angela knew that she wanted to be a nurse since she was a child and spent most of her career employed at Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. 

Angela moved to Maryland in 2000 to be closer to many of her family and friends.  She also continued her nursing career at the University of Maryland hospital, where she retired.  Angela was very involved in her Christian faith and thoroughly enjoyed praise and worship services. 

She is well known for her soft heart yet no nonsense attitude.  She believed that being honest and straightforward while still showing compassion was the only way to be. 

Angela will be most remembered for being a selfless person.  She will also be remembered for her smile, laugh, dancing, and delicious Caribbean dishes. 

We love you and you will always be missed.
