Angela Nichelle Jones, affectionately known as Angie or Pie, departed her loving family on April 30, 2021.

Angie was born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 29, 1969 and was raised by her loving parents Johnnie and Gloria Jean Jones. Johnnie ensured Angie was a self-sufficient young woman who could change her own tires and oil. Her mother Gloria Jean, taught Angie everything she knew about sewing, serving the Lord and cooking. Angie was also surrounded by her dear Aunt Kat, Uncle Hunter, Grandma Kitty, Granddaddy Simmons and her cousin Takiyah. Angie was raised with southern morals and graced with the ability to cook any dish with a Memphis flair.

As a child, Angie moved to Greenbelt, Maryland. She excelled in the Eleanor Roosevelt High School choir and as a member of the track team. Angie had a very active social life and had many friends. After graduation, she began working and was blessed with her first-born child Eric Allen in 1989. In 1990,Angie and her then husband Darren Stewart, had their daughter LaToya Marie. She also became an excellent stepmom to Darren’s son Darrec Stewart.  Angie had an abundant amount of love in heart for her nieces Tasha, Tina and Kim as well. Angie’s compassion for children explains her career path to proudly serve Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS)for over 25 years. Angie’s long-lasting relationships with her PGCPS family demonstrated her strong connection to her community and the population she served.

Angela Nichelle Jones is survived by her mother Gloria Jean; children Eric and LaToya; her aunt Kat and uncle Hunter; her cousins Takiyah and Jwyanca; her daughter-in-law Jennifer; her Grandchildren Teddy and Zayna; and many siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins from her large extended family in Memphis.
