Annette Ivon Castillo

December 11, 2007 — July 27, 2021

Claudia Ivette Castillo Sanchez gave birth to a unique, beautiful soul Annette Ivon Castillo, but we would always call her Toto because that was her first spoken word. She was born on December 11, 2007, in Washington, D.C. She was 13 years old. Jorge Montiel Claudia Castillo partner helped raised and witness most of Annette's milestones since she was a little girl. Annette had two siblings, Allison Castillo, age 15, and her little brother Aiden Montiel Castillo age eight. Annette's grandparent's names from her mother's side are Paula I Sanchez Ramirez and Juan G Castillo Leon. She had one uncle Carlos Castillo his wife Alma Merlin, and two aunts Leydi Castillo Sanchez and Karen Castillo Sanchez. Her cousins' names are Jason Castillo, Ayleen Castillo, Valina Castillo, Anahy Castillo, Valery Castillo, Kevin Castillo, Michael Castillo, and Michelle Castillo.

As you can see, Annette was placed in such a big loving family who loves her so much. On Saturday, July 24, 2021, the whole family went to a state park to celebrate her mother's birthday. We had so much fun we all got a sunburn that day. On Sunday, July 25, 2021, we celebrated her grandmother's birthday. Annette wore a cool outfit that her BFF Lesly put together; we ate tacos, danced, and spent quality time with one another. We all stayed up that night and slept over together. Then Monday came, and she started complaining of a sore throat; on Tuesday, she fainted and was taken to the ER around 4 am Annette was pronounced by 6:13 am. We still do not know the cause of death.

She enjoyed listening to K pop music some of her favorite bands were Twice, BTS, nct dream, itzy, exo, stray kids, enyphen, txt, blackpink. She and her buddy Sujey would collect and trade k-pop photo cards around the United States. Annette loved Asian food and was fascinated by Korean culture even though our family is Mexican; she dreamed of traveling to South Korea. She was starting to learn the language too. Toto was a kid full of joy who loved adventures, was very caring, witty, always coming up with ideas to make others laugh. Annette would always make something out of nothing, one recent memory I would like to share during the summer of 2021, we all went on a mission to find a pool from one store to another still, we could not find one, so Annette got buckets at home for storage and used them as mini pools for her and her cousins. She loved animals and owned a guineapig name Dobi and was enthusiastic about technology; she enjoyed researching things she was curious about and always sought knowledge. Toto found legend stories to be exciting and read frequently. She would fall a lot doing skating, and her mom would often say, Annette, be careful you will hurt yourself, but Toto loved skating. Every time she would walk in the room, she would always say HELLO with a squeaky voice and then make a funny face.

WE MISS YOU SO MUCH, ANNETTE. I wish things would be different, and I could change things around. We were never prepared or ready to experience this pain we all carry. Our family will never be the same baby girl; you will always be with us. We love you so so much, Annette Ivon Castillo, aka Toto. Rest in peace, my sweet baby.
