Anntoria Laraine Wells

Anntoria Laraine Wells was born in Asheville, NC.  She was the eldest of 2 siblings. Even as a little girl, her parents saw that the foundation for her ambition was there.  Having received a lump sum of money, her father Buster Barton, placed the money on his bed. Shortly thereafter, they found Anntoria as a child on the bed in the middle of the money rolling around gleefully.  Anntoria was the first in her family to graduate from High School. She also was the first in her family to graduate from college. These new family heights set the foundation to many life achievements to come.  She lived a full and complete life having met her husband Henry Wells in Asheville, NC and eventually relocating to her dream location, the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. She ultimately settled down in Maryland and raised 3 children, Leslie, Michael, and Eric.  Upon retirement, she embarked on a life spent relaxing at home watching her favorite tv shows, supervising many home projects and traveling. She visited over 10 countries abroad and numerous resorts in the U.S. meeting interesting people along the way while forming new memories in each place visited.  Her favorite pastime on the cruise ships was “people watching” and eating fine cuisine. Despite not knowing how to swim, Anntoria was fearless in cruising and visiting the beaches of multiple islands. Her strength and fearlessness became even more evident when she was diagnosed with cancer. She handled her cancer diagnosis like she handled every challenge in her life...with acceptance, grace and faith in the Lord’s plan.  She showed tremendous strength and perseverance in life which will always be remembered and admired. Anntoria Wells is survived by her 3 children, Leslie, Michael and Eric Wells, her sister, Naomi Fuller, her husband, Henry C. Wells in addition to many family members and close friends who will miss her dearly.
