Anthony Jones, Jr.

Anthony Jones, Jr. was born on August 8, 2002, in Ridgecrest, California, and passed away on December 20, 2022, in Bowie, Maryland. He graduated from Bowie High School in 2020. While enrolled at said school, Anthony excelled, as a cadet, in its Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) Program, and was in Bowie Youth & Family Services’ Teen Mentoring Program (TMP).  Anthony also received recognition from the Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce for participation in its Youth Leadership Program.

Anthony enjoyed working with gadgets and electronics. He was also not one to shy away from a debate, presenting his points with eloquence and passion. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and going to concerts. 

Anthony was known for his sincere and caring heart that overflowed with a genuine love for others. His affable personality endeared him to all he came in contact with. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him and whose lives he touched. 

Anthony is preceded in death by his grandfather, Luis Gustavo Rivera, Sr., whom he lovingly referred to as his best friend. He is survived by his mother, Candace Comelli, his father, Luis Gustavo Rivera, Jr., his grandmother, Arlene Frances Rivera, and uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

 A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m., at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Highway, Bowie, MD 20715.
