Arthur Rickey Wells, Sr.

He was born to Nettie Baker and Harold Lancaster in Virginia, on November 18, 1930. Arthur was a graduate of Phelps Vocational school in Washington, D.C. Soon after graduating he joined the United States Army where he served honorably becoming a veteran of the Korean War. Soon after serving in the Korean War he met his beloved wife Evelyn L. Coleman. Arthur worked for the Montgomery County Public School system for 30 years where he gained the nickname Slim. Arthur also retired from Giant Foods with 20 years of service. Arthur was a dedicated hardworking father, instilling a strong work ethic in his children and was an exemplary provider for his family. He enjoyed watching western movies, daytime soaps, watching and attending Washington Redskins games, manicuring his lawn, and he had a passion for music. Those that knew him best will tell you that Arthur was a giving, unselfish man, with a loving heart.

Family will receive friends and family for a viewing on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the family - owned Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD, followed by an Interment service on September 10, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
