Barbara Steele, commonly known as Barbie, passed away peacefully in her home on June 1, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Cheverly, Maryland on September 1, 1962, to James and Alice Childs. Barbie was a jane-of-all trades, having worked as a painter, casino dealer, firefighter, EMT, dental hygienist and vet technician before finding her true passion and earning her nursing license in 1999. She was passionate about caring for others, humans and animals alike, an avid traveler and enjoyed an eclectic taste in music. Barbie is survived by her husband David Steele, son Craig Garner, and sister Patsy Childs.
