Bernadette Bragg Wilson, age 75, was born on July 16, 1945, to the union of the late Gabriel Alphonse Bragg and Wilhelmina Trainer Bragg, in Mobile, Alabama.  She relocated to Washington, DC, with her childhood sweetheart, Benjamin J. Wilson, where they married in 1968.  To this union, two daughters were born.

Bernadette departed this life on Friday, December 11, 2020, in her home unexpectantly.  She was a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she majored in English.  She served over 50 years of federal government service, including over 48 years of dedicated service to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Bernadette was a faithful and dutiful servant of Saint Matthias the Apostle Church in Lanham, Maryland, where she was a member of the Ladies of Charity, Breakfast Club and Prayer Group where she led the rosary.  Bernadette never tired in her undaunted devotion and many services to the church. 

Bernadette was a loving, loyal, and dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.  She absolutely adored her family and stood ready to extend a helpful hand to anyone who asked.

Bernadette will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  She leaves to celebrate her life, her husband of 52 years, Benjamin J. Wilson, two daughters, Danuta Patrice Wilson of Annapolis, Maryland, Dedrienne Nicole Wilson (Tressha) of Atlanta, Georgia; one sister Gail P. Bragg of Pensacola, Florida; a nephew, Djuan Gabriel Bragg (Leigh) of Oviedo, Florida; a niece, Chrystal Wilhelmina Bragg (Dexter) of Pensacola, Florida; a grand nephew Benton Wynn, grand niece, Aryana Harris, and grand nephew Jerome Crane (“JC”); two brothers-in-law: Ralph Wilson (JoAnn) and Harrison Wilson (Jannette); and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bernadette’s homegoing services will be on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Saint Matthias the Apostle Catholic Church located at 9475 Annapolis, Road, Lanham, Maryland  20706.  The Viewing will be at 10am and the service will begin at 11am followed by a procession to Parklawn Cemetery located at 12800 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, Maryland,  20853.
