Bernice Madeline (Haerbig) Robertson was born June 7, 1921, and passed away December 22, 2020.
Bernie was preceded in death by her husband’s Marvin M. Haerbig, L. Franklin Robertson, her parents Fred and Catherine Dahl, and brother Donald Dahl.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughter Jill H. Krohn of Richmond, VA, sons Steve Haerbig (Carol) of Mechanicsville, VA, and Christopher Haerbig (Tracy) of Columbia, MD.
grandchildren Scott Haerbig, Tory Haerbig, Mindy Boyd, Hank Krohn, Matthew Haerbig, Nathan Haerbig, and Brenda Mwaura, and numerous great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Bernie was an active board member with the Crofton Athletic Association, various civic associations and was a founding Charter Member of the Crofton Village
Garden Club. In 2018 the “Bernie Robertson Award” was established, and Bernie was the 1st recipient of this prestigious award named in her honor for dedicated,
energetic, community beautification service. She was the recipient of numerous awards and citations for floral designs throughout the Maryland Region, and,
worked diligently to assist and instruct others in floral concept and design.
Bernie was a lifelong avid bridge player belonging to numerous bridge clubs throughout the years.
A tireless volunteer at the Anne Arundel Medical Center, Bernie logged over 3,300 hours working in the hospital gift shop as well as helping in many
capacities as a volunteer.
The last 5 years Bernie resided in Richmond, VA at Commonwealth Senior Living where she was honored, cherished and loved. She continued to
assist there with floral suggestions, was an active member of the residents council, and an avid game player. Bernie developed many special friends while
at Commonwealth and sincere thanks go out to the extraordinary staff that took the extra time to care for Bernie over the last 5 years.
A private Family Service will be held at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church , Millersville, MD. A memorial celebration of her Life
to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her name to your Local Food Bank, or The St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
