Betty Lou Stratton (Sutton) of Denton, MD, passed away at the age of 76 on Monday, October 26, 2020. She is survived by her son William and his wife Joanne; her son John and his wife Justine; grandchildren Thomas James (TJ), Nicole (Nikki), Bethany, Bradley, Kelsey; and great-granddaughter Brooklynn.
Her biggest passions late in life were the Lord and being involved in rescuing abused dogs, notably in that order. She spent many years creating and distributing gospel tracts that she authored and printed, spreading God’s Word through broad portions of the country. Her ministry was so strong that she became known as “The Tract Lady” to many, which is a testimony to her commitment. She was also passionate about rescuing abused poodles and giving them a better home. She would often take her rescue dogs to senior citizens homes and share her dogs with the residents there, offering them the company, comfort and joy that dogs can bring to people.
A public visitation will be held for guests wishing to pay their respects at the Beall Funeral Home in Bowie, MD, on Tuesday, November 3, from 10:30AM–12:00PM, followed by a family-only service immediately afterward. Please recognize that masks and social distancing are required.
In lieu of flowers and if you wish, Betty had requested that donations be made to Mid Atlantic Poodle Rescue [email protected]
