Beverly Morgan Barton of Bowie MD--affectionately known as "Bev"--passed away on November 29, 2021 at Anne Arundel Medical Center due to complications from pneumonia. Born on January 9, 1926 in Takoma Park MD to Winfield and Viola Morgan she grew up in Plymouth PA and graduated magna cum laude from Albright College in Reading. She enjoyed a long career as a nutrition specialist with the federal government, retiring in 1994 from the National Marine Fisheries Service. Preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Winfield Morgan she is survived by her brother, retired Judge Warren Morgan of Delray Beach Florida and her son Steven. As a 50 year member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church she was a person of deep faith who sang in the choir for many many years. Her favorite bible passage was the 23rd Psalm. Bev loved cooking, gardening, listening to Frank Sinatra, and animals. Somehow she always managed to find room to take in yet another neighborhood stray. She had a natural warmth that everyone who met her noticed. A memorial service is being planned for sometime after the new year.
