Bonnie Jean Epps, lovingly known by her family as "Jean" passed away peacefully April 25, 2021 at Prince Georges Hospital in Cheverly, MD.

Bonnie was born in Georgia and raised in Tennessee. She lived with her grandparents until the age of 16, after the death of her grandparents she went to live with her mother and stepfather where she helped to take care of her younger siblings.

Bonnie left home to join the WACS (Women Army Corps) where she served three years as a clerk typist. After serving in the military Bonnie moved to DC where she met her former spouse Alfred Epps Jr. and raised two daughters. She worked in the federal government until her retirement. Her siblings shared fond memories of her taking them to the library and spaghetti dinners with ice-cream for dessert. Bonnie loved her daughters and grandchildren. She loved going to the movies, watching wrestling with her grandsons and listening to music. Bonnie loved everything from Country to Motown. She loved to talk about politics, religion and history and believe me you had to come with your knowledge a-game to hang in a conversation with her and if you weren’t part of the conversation you still learned a lot just from listening. Bonnie enjoyed watching cooking shows and would  sometimes try to recreate the recipes not always a success but she had fun trying.

Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, Andrew Jackson Hodge and Dorothy Jo Floyd, two sisters Elizabeth (Libby) Ellen Ray and Judith (Judy) Shelton

She is survived by her two daughters Kathleen former husband (Carlos) and Brigitte, two brothers Charles and Daniel, two sisters Nellie and Barbara. Seven grandchildren Aaron, Dionte spouse (Denise), Indya, Aleujiah, Carlos, Asia and Xavier. Eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and additional family and friends.

Thank you.

We wish to warmly thank you for your comforting words and genuine acts of kindness in our time of sadness.
