Brendan David Farr, age 40, born and raised in Crofton, MD, and more recently a resident of Gaithersburg, MD, passed away on July 1, 2021 after a 16-year battle with cancer.
Brendan was born on February 1, 1981 in Silver Spring, MD to Michael and Maria Farr. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1999 and Elon University in 2003. Brendan went on to establish a successful career in the federal government. Brendan married his wife of 10 years in 2010 and in July of 2015, became a father, which he considered his most important role yet. Brendan’s primary focus and passion was his family. On weekends, Brendan enjoyed spending time with his family, from hiking on Sugarloaf Mountain to apple picking at Homestead Farm, cheering on t-ball games, and just playing hide and seek or tag with his kids. Brendan loved the beach, playing golf, skiing, lacrosse, and soccer. He was an excellent cook and could spend hours on the grill perfecting his meals. Throughout his cancer battle, Brendan remained positive and was a huge support to others fighting their own cancer battles.
Brendan is survived by his parents, Michael and Maria Farr, his wife, Katie Farr, their children Brynn and Andrew, his brothers, Jeffrey (Diana), Ryan (fiancée Stephanie Shively), and Patrick (Karen), and seven nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
