Calvin Pate Williams
A Beautiful Life Story
~ ~
Our beloved Calvin Pate Williams entered this world on March 28, 1936, and lived a beautiful life filled with love and joy. He laughed often, loved deeply, and make an everlasting impression on the many lives he touched.
Calvin, son of the late Earl and Carolyn Cochran, was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey and raised in Northwest, Washington, DC. He later moved to Bowie, Maryland (in Prince George’s County), where he lived for more than 50 years.
Calvin was the oldest of nine children, and all his siblings looked up to him. He played little league baseball and discovered his love of dancing and roller skating at a very early age.
He loved camping and fishing and traveled extensively. Calvin was an avid lover of sports and music. His favorite boxer was Muhammed Ali, he loved the Washington Football Team, and prince was one of his all-time favorite singers.
He was a fashionable dresser, and anyone who knew Calvin knew that when he went out, he went all out. He was always sharp, from the fedora, cocked to the side, on top of his head down to the split-shined shoes he wore on his feet.
Calvin Loved his family; and he especially loved all his children.
Compassionate and a man of great pride and integrity; that was Calvin. He was, and will always be, greatly treasured, cherished, and honored by those who grew to love him.
On Friday, August 27, 2021, Calvin was called into eternal rest; and although we profoundly miss his physical presence, he will always carry the baton of his spirit in his honor.
Calvin was preceded in death by his son, Clyde Williams, and leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Calvin Williams, Jr., Reginald Williams, Carlton Williams, Christopher Williams, Carolyn Lewis, and Angela Williams; siblings, Steve Cochran, Gail Lee (Frank), and Carolyn Jenkins; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
