Carl Sigvold Bulger passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 9th 2024 at the age of 89 in Bowie, Maryland. Born on May 29, 1935 in Washington DC, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and a dedicated US Army veteran.

Carl grew up in El Paso Texas, then moved to East Orange New Jersey where he graduated from East Orange High School. He attended Texas Tech University before transferring to Kansas State University receiving his Master's degree and meeting his loving wife Pamela starting their lives together. Carl then attended Iowa State University for his PhD in Entomology. Carl and Pam traveled the United States with the US Army through their lives ultimately landing in Bowie, Maryland. They enjoying 66 years of marriage. 

Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army for 24 years achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Carl served in the post Korean war era and the Vietnam war in the medical branch as an entomologist. He was honorably discharged in 1985. Carl received the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal With 4 stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and Army Service Award. He served his country proudly and with loyalty.

After retiring from the Army, Carl worked for the Prince George’s County Health Department and Belair Hardware store where he shared his uncanny ability to fix anything. He would spend hours building and repairing things around the house. Carl loved football and was a dedicated Washington Redskins fan. He enjoyed traveling to visit his grandchildren in Seattle and Texas.

Above all, he loved his family deeply. He is survived by his wife Pamela B. Bulger, Sons, Doug Bulger and Chuck Bulger, his daughter Diane Tsapos and his six grandchildren: Michael Tsapos, Natalie Bulger, Katina Tsapos, Kelsey Bulger, Jack Bulger and Zoe Tsapos. His family will cherish his memory and carry forward his lessons of strength, resilience and love.

His service will occur at a later date. He will be placed in the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery with his fellow veterans.
